Lite Reads Selection: ‘Mrs. Sorensen and the Sasquatch’ by Kelly Barnhill

Welcome to The Feminist Bibliothecary’s Lite Reads, where we read a different short story every week, and discuss it here and on social media. This week’s Lite Reads selection is Mrs. Sorensen and the Sasquatch by Kelly Barnhill.

Mrs. Sorensen and the Sasquatch is a fantasy romance short story published in 2014 by Tor.com. After Mr. Sorensen passes away, his widow stirs up a scandal by falling in love with a new person. The community is furious and enlists the help of the local priest to help convince Mrs. Sorensen to live as they believe a widow should live. Mrs. Sorensen does what she must to preserve her new love in this vibrant fantasy setting.
